PEORIA, Ill. (October 11, 2002)—Advanced Technology Services, Inc. (ATS), the premier single-source provider of technology solutions, has achieved ISO 17025 accreditation for its calibration services. Earlier this year, ATS achieved ISO 9001:2000 registration for its upstate South Carolina on-call information technology (IT) services delivered out of ATS’ Southeast regional office located in Greenville, South Carolina, as well as ISO 9001 registration for its repair and exchange of industrial electronic and mechanical repairable spare parts.
This milestone emphasizes ATS’ continued commitment to providing its customer base with products, services and solutions of the highest quality standards.
The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good management practices with the aim of ensuring that an organization can deliver continually the product or services that meet their clients’ quality requirements. ATS manages a quality management system (QMS) that embraces all of the company’s activities, including: staff training, customer interaction, meeting customer requirements, product design and development, purchasing materials and services, and delivering products and services. ATS’ ISO certification reinforces to its customers, through an independent third party, that ATS operates a QMS in accordance with the standard.
Chuck Underwood, Quality Manager for ATS stated, “We are very customer-focused and are always looking at new initiatives to ‘raise the bar’. We felt that achieving the ISO registration was a good next step in our quality program, and we have already seen benefits. As part of the registration process, we were required to develop more formal procedures, which thereby enhanced the quality of our customer service.”
ATS is the only company that packages a complete combination of factory maintenance services, industrial parts repair and calibration, information technology (IT) infrastructure services, and used machinery and equipment sales to maintain equipment both in the plant and in the office.
The industry leader in outsourced maintenance for manufacturers, ATS solves complex industrial and IT problems for many of the world’s most respected organizations. Known as The inventional companyTM because of its proven ability to create inventive solutions that solve its customers’ conventional (manufacturing and IT maintenance) problems, ATS significantly improves quality, increases productivity and reduces downtime. The company employs more than 300 in Peoria, Illinois, and has nearly 600 employees at other ATS and customer locations throughout the United States.
