The elements and purpose of Preventive Maintenance (PM) are well known. A set of tasks performed at a certain frequency, and these tasks are scheduled and performed thoroughly by qualified technicians or operators. Most companies and their preventative maintenance organizations have difficulties implementing these programs simply because working on preventive tasks in a reactive environment is impossible.
Through Preventive Maintenance, ATS will identify the right tasks, proper frequency and technical skill set required to complete the tasks and duration. Then, through good planning and scheduling, ATS will drive the execution of these Preventive Maintenances, work with the plant or facility managers to have the equipment available and perform the work.
